MCCPTA Updates:

  • Our MCCPTA Special Ed Committee Rep has created a Facebook page: Beall Elementary School Special Education Parent Support - MCPS. This is a private group for parents of students receiving formal special education support and/or accommodations through a 504 or IEP, and parents interested in learning more about such supports. All Beall parents are invited to join. This group provides a safe, private space to bring questions and concerns, to connect with other parents, and to seek support. We ask that conversations in this space remain confidential. If you have any questions about the page, or more generally about the committee, you can email our MCCPTA Special Ed rep, Jaclyn Halpern at [email protected]
  • MCCPTA Presentation on Gifted Education in MCPS: The MCCPTA’s Gifted Education Committee prepared a presentation to explain to parents the differences between the Centers for Enriched Studies, the Enriched Literacy Curriculum, and Benchmark Advance. View the presentation.
  • MCPS Holds Second Community Work Session on Physical Plans for the New Crown High School: The next planning meeting for Crown High School—which very likely will impact Richard Montgomery’s boundaries and may impact Beall’s boundaries—is December 2. Information on the project is available here. The second meeting occurred Nov. 11--the presentation is here.
  • Montgomery County Council Seeks Parent Feedback on Evaluation of MCPS Principals: Reminder that the County Council asks parents to take a brief, 3-minute survey to assist with the Council’s preparation of a report that reviews the hiring, placement, and evaluation of MCPS principals. Take the survey.
  • Parents Asked to Complete Impact Aid Survey: Reminder that MCPS asks parents to complete the Impact Aid survey so that the school district can receive the Impact Aid funding to which it is entitled. Responses are due Dec. 10. Complete the survey.

Other Community Resources:

  • Please click here for county information on the COVID vaccine for children ages 5-11, and sign up for County-run clinic appointments.
  • Mobile Food Market: The Mobile Market provides fresh fruits, vegetables, and other foods at no cost to MC students, faculty/staff, and the Montgomery County community.  Food availability is based on a first-come, first serve basis and pick up is contactless. No proof of eligibility required. All participants must wear masks. To learn more visit here.

We hope you & your family have a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday.
