January Wrap Up and Accolades
January 7th brought out lots of folks for our PTA Meeting and Parenting Workshop! We had visiting lecturer Deborah Hoffman and learned all about talking to kids about s-e-x! Thanks to all who attended. The next one is this Wednesday, February 4th. Join us for the PTA Meeting at 6:30 - 7:00 pm followed by a parenting workshop "Power Tools for Power Struggles" at 7:00 - 8:00 pm by our PEP speaker Pascale Brady.
A fantastic and fun Dine Out night was had at Zoe's Kitchen on January 15th. A huge round of applause to Amy Yergey, Beth Wisneski, and the rest of the Dine Out team organizers - and major thanks to all the parents and kids who turned out! Join us for pizza on February 12th at Giuseppi's for the next Dine Out night!
A huge round of applause for Rob Ritter, who once again organized the annual Beall PTA Box Tops and Labels for Education contest! Rob's team is still counting up those little scraps, but will soon be rewarding cash prizes to the classrooms that collected the most! If you still have Box Tops, make sure to get them to Rob asap! Rob can be reached at email@example.com.
The Beall PTA Membership is already 320 members strong and growing! Not a member yet? WHY NOT???!! Join online now at http://www.beallpta.org/membership or contact Patricia Ortiz at firstname.lastname@example.org. Beall staff who are members of the PTA are allowed to submit up to $100/per school year for classroom supplies reimbursement.
The annual Staff vs. Parents basketball game is quickly approaching, and the PTA needs more prizes for the March Madness raffle. Please contact Meg Page at email@example.com if you can provide donations! Questions about the game itself can be addressed to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Staff wish lists are online here.
Cathy Lease welcomes parent feedback about after-school activities - please let her know what classes your children have particularly enjoyed, or if you have encountered any issues, etc. Comments can be sent to email@example.com.

Beall Elementary School in Rockville, MD
Have you heard about the Beall PTA Science Expo? Our snow date is this Tuesday, Februaru 3rd!!! It's going to be an AWESOME EXPLOSION of SCIENCE! We turn the Beall gym over to our budding Beall scientists for an evening of science fun: each student who chooses to do a project gets an assigned table space with plenty of room for a display board describing some bit of SCIENCE that kid has done at home, whether an experiment or a fascinating science phenomenon. You can expect crystals, volcanoes, projectiles, animals, chemistry, space and lots of other super cool stuff. Any Beall student who wants to participate can present a project of their choice at the Expo, and everyone is invited to come see the projects!
Questions? Thoughts? Suggestions? Contact Kay Newhouse, PTA Sci Expo coordinator & mom of Stella (1st grade) BeallSciExpo@gmail.com
